01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

A group who shared a large Shine Muscat parfait said that layers of Muscat gelato and white-wine blancmange beneath the fruit brought a change of flavour with each spoonful. Seasonal fruit parfaits are the signature at The Living, with varieties featuring strawberries, peaches and Shine Muscat appearing as the seasons change. There are generous sizes to share with friends or family, as well as individual parfaits to savour on your own. The menu also includes the Princess Pudding series, which pairs pudding with seasonal fruit. Diners who tried the strawberry parfait noted that it included strawberry ice cream and sorbet, as well as vanilla ice cream, and that several people could finish it even after a meal. The fruit and parfaits change with the seasons, so check in advance and book if you have a particular one in mind. Reservations are also recommended for lunch and brunch.

If you’d like a meal alongside your parfait, Eggs Benedict and curry are options. One diner who chose pastrami for their Eggs Benedict enjoyed its richness with the cheese and egg; on another visit, diners ordered the Madame with avocado and tomato, as well as a version with corn. For something more substantial, consider the ginger chicken rice or The Living curry. One way to make a meal more filling is to add a half-size portion of curry to the chicken rice.

The interior has been described as a living-room-like space with box seats, where guests take off their shoes. In Chidoricho, it’s a welcoming spot for sharing seasonal fruit with friends or family, or for a brunch that brings together a meal and dessert.
